Honestly? I was terrified of sleep deprivation as an expecting mom.
 

Before I had my daughter, I’d heard the horror stories - moms running on fumes, feeling lost, desperate, resentful. I watched friends struggle and thought, "How do you survive that?"
 

Then I got pregnant after two heartbreaking miscarriages. And while I was so grateful, I was also terrified—because I knew what was coming.
 

And I was right.

My daughter was born and all of my fears came to light. I was getting minimal sleep and overall just not feeling well. I felt postpartum depression and anxiety creeping in.

 

There was a rage inside of me that I didn't know was even possible...and it scared me. I noticed that on days after the worst nights, my "mom rage" would get so bad that I was afraid to even pick up my daughter, leaving me to call my husband or mom so they would come and take over. I felt like the worst mom in the world.

Was this it? Was this what motherhood was supposed to be? If it was, I wasn't accepting it. Something had to change.

When my daughter was 5.5 months old, I made the decision to transition her to her own room and formally sleep train her. I had used gentle newborn strategies that had her sleeping 11 hours by 12 weeks, but her noisy baby sleep still kept me from really sleeping at night.

Within three days, she was sleeping solidly through the night in her crib.

 

That first night, I laid down in bed and watched TV with my husband for the first time in almost 6 months.

 

I woke up the next morning and drank my coffee...by myself while it was still hot.

Q: Will this work if my baby is super clingy? 
A: Yes! This program is designed to respect your baby's attachment while helping them develop independent sleep skills in a way that works for your family.

Q:
 Do you use 'cry it out'?
A: Nope! While crying is a normal part of change, this program focuses on responsive strategies that help your baby learn to sleep while still being supported through the process.

Q:
 How long will it take to see results?
A: Every baby is different, but most families see improvement by days 2-5 with 90% sleeping through the night within 1-2 weeks when they stay consistent with the plan. 

Q:
 Does this work for breastfed babies?
A: Formula-fed, exclusively breast-fed, exclusively pumping, room-sharing, in their own room, wanting to maintain a night feed, daycare baby...none of this matters. It still works. In fact, 80% of my clients (and I've worked with over 100 families), have been breast-fed babies.
